The need for music, art and peace in education inspired students and teachers at Buffalo’s Lafayette High School to create this guitar after music programs were eliminated due to budget cuts.

The images depict school traditions:

• the angel, who protects and inspires;
• the watchwords, “Loyalty, Honor and Service;”
• the lamppost, which grounds students and guides them back to a place of hope for the future; and
• the tower, a reminder of pride for school, community and self.
