This innovative guitar is also an interactive game patterned after Japanese pachinko games, using slots for coins instead of the traditional balls. Coins slide down the neck, hitting noise-generating devices, then bounce side-to-side.
The vivid exterior features WNED logos and images of guitar players, modified with a Japanese design element.
Gilewicz, a self-taught sculptor, works in stone, clay and mixed media. His works have been exhibited throughout the Eastern United States.
Gilewicz created two “Herd About Buffalo” bison, including “The Head & Tail Buffalo.” Now being restored for Roswell Park Cancer Institute, it was featured on national telecasts and in print media, including a humorous article questioning its disappearance.
